Opening weekend for 3 new theater productions (Dec. 28-31)

Since it is that crazy week between Christmas and New Year's, a minimal number of shows are opening this weekend. Wisely, two shows are opening on Monday as part of a special New Year's Eve party, which include food, champagne, and a show. Make sure to check these fun shows:

Killer Leech
Killer Leech
  • Full Moon Murders, presented by Pegasus Theatre. World Premiere of a brand new Harry Hunsacker adventure presented in "Living Black & White." John Creighton lives with a curse on his head—a curse that will transform him into a werewolf during the first full moon after his 30th birthday! When bodies start turning up near his home he fears the worst. Is he doomed by his family name or is there something even more sinister afoot? It’s up to would-be actor turned would-be detective Harry Hunsacker and his paid-by-the-hour assistant Nigel Grouse (along with Lt. Foster of the real police) to get to the truth. An affectionate parody of the Golden Age of detective films of the 1930s and '40s, this new comedy murder-mystery will delight the whole family. Previews on Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30. Special New Year's Eve Performance ($75) with Black & White party favors, live entertainment, champagne and dessert after the show, and a toast to the New Year with the cast and crew on December 31, 2007. Show officially opens January 3. Purchase tickets ($10-20) online or by calling 972-744-4650.
  • Attack Of The Killer Mutant Leeches, presented by Pocket Sandwich Theatre on December 31. New Year's Eve celebration ($80) includes complete Buffet Dinner, Beer, Wine, Soft Drinks, the First Audience Participation Comedy Of 2008, Door Prizes, Pre-Midnight Entertainment, Funny Hats, Noise-Makers, Champagne, And Hugs And Kisses At Midnight. Attack Of The Killer Mutant Leeches is another of the Pocket’s infamous audience-participation, popcorn-tossing, comedy spoofs. Monstrous things occur as monstrous creatures appear in the swampy Everglades to prey on the unfortunate inhabitants of Muskeg County, Florida. Buffet and drinks begin at 6:15 p.m. and show begins at 8:00 p.m. Show officially opens on January 3. Call 214-821-1860 for reservations ($10-18).
  • Celebration-Le Cirque, presented by Lone Star Circus for this weekend only. A holiday family celebration filled with superlative acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, hilarious comedy, and unparalleled artistry. Purchase tickets ($24-42) online or by calling 214-740-0051.
