— The Dallas Mavericks finally started playing up to their capabilities Saturday afternoon, storming out of the gates in the first quarter and keeping the pressure on in a 97-84 win over Atlanta at the AAC. Leading 54-35 at the half, the Mavs finally seemed to shrug off the terrible, perimeter-only play of the last two games and finally return to an aggressive offensive game.

The Mavericks were led by a resurgent Dirk Nowitzki, who led all scorers with 22 point, while adding 9 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. Josh Howard and Devin Harris both added 19 more for the Mavs, who improved to 20-11 on the season.
