Dallas Mavericks 97, Atlanta Hawks 84
The Hawks prove to be the medicine for what ails the Mavs.
DALLAS The Dallas Mavericks finally started playing up to their capabilities Saturday afternoon, storming out of the gates in the first quarter and keeping the pressure on in a 97-84 win over Atlanta at the AAC. Leading 54-35 at the half, the Mavs finally seemed to shrug off the terrible, perimeter-only play of the last two games and finally return to an aggressive offensive game.
The Mavericks were led by a resurgent Dirk Nowitzki, who led all scorers with 22 point, while adding 9 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. Josh Howard and Devin Harris both added 19 more for the Mavs, who improved to 20-11 on the season.
