Hallefrickinlujah- baseball season starts Tuesday with UT Arlington v. Texas
Mavs are 17-21 all-time in season openers, It won't be an easy one against UT, which is ranked 12th in the nation by Baseball America.
Here are some tidbits about the game, which is the first of the season among the local college boys (which is only them and TCU. Nonetheless. . . .) The game will be played at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Season Openers
The Mavericks are beginning their 39th season of Division I baseball.
UTA's first game was held March 4, 1969 with the Mavericks dropping a 4-2 decision to Tarleton State.
The Mavs are 17-21 all-time in season openers.
Head coach Jeff Curtis is 3-2 in season openers and was victorious in two-straight openers.
The meeting will mark the seventh time that the Mavs and Horns will meet in the opener for UTA.
Both teams have won three meetings with the Mavs taking a 3-1 decision in the 2000 opener.
Some UT fast facts:
· With 433 wins on the Forty Acres, Augie Garrido needs just two wins to pass Bibb Falk (434) for third place on UT's list for most wins against collegiate competition. Cliff Gustafson holds the UT all-time record with 1,427, followed by William J. Disch (465) and Falk.
· February 6 is Augie Garrido's birthday. Coach Garrido was born on Feb. 6, 1939. He is 7-0 on his birthday while at The University of Texas.
· Preston Clark has UT's longest active hit streak at three games. He is hitting .545 (6-for-11) during the span.
