Baylor signs 26 recruits, hoping to improve offensive and defensive line

0

Baylor University head football coach Guy Morriss announced Wednesday the signing of 26 players to National Letters of Intent for the 2007-08 academic year. Included in Morriss’ fifth Baylor recruiting class are 21 high school standouts and five junior college transfers. In addition, quarterback Michael Machen graduated early from Kent State and transferred into the Baylor program and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

“This is by far the best recruiting class we’ve signed in the five years we’ve been at Baylor,” said Morriss. “I believe that each of classes has improved and this group will further strengthen the foundation of our program for years to come.”

Three of the athletes are following in their father's All-American foot steps, including Chris Francis, a linebacker from Cedar Hill. His father, James Francis, played for the Bears from 1986-1989.
