TXU is getting the living crap beat out of them. Why doesn't anyone just say it in those terms? If Brad Pitt and Ed Norton don't show up soon I'm going to be totally surprised. In the past 24 hours they have gotten their electric ass handed to them by environmentalists, by lawyers, by politicians - even dang honest, church-going folk.

How's the construction of the wind turbine on top of your building coming along? Maybe if DART buses did not pollute so much your solar panels would be more efficient. Remember there is TXU Corp and TXU energy delivery. TXU corp sells electricity wholesale to everyone. TXU energy delivery (which was rumored to be sold off) sells to the end user, along with reliant, green mountain, and the like. Plus I did not see a green mountain truck come out to get the power back on in my neighborhood last thunderstorm. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think any company should be making the obscene profits that they are posting. I also don't think any athlete is worth more than six figures. While we are arguing the virtues of coal-generated energy, support for those nuclear devices grows and grows - quietly. Hey, the smoke is gonna blow into Oklahoma anyway.

Is this the whole story. What facts or references to this ass handing are there? I would like to know the reason why their asses are being handed to them. Could really care less wether or not Brad Pitt or Ed Norton show up. Those two sure can act but as far as their knowledge about local power companies and deregulation in TX goes...I would not trust their point of view. Besides, liberals only subscribe to feel good politics and get the whole thing wrong inthe end. Take global warming for example. Sure is cold and snowing quite a lot for global warming. Fact: This is the coldest winter the plains states have experienced since the mid 70's. Fact: Snow actually hit the ground in San Diego in 2006. It has probably never happened before. Fact: Sunspot activity is diminishing. Prepare to get cold. When sunspot activity in the past diminished, the planet cools.(Last time in the 1700's when New York harbor froze over). One last note. Power companies in TX have way over charged their customers in comparison to other states. They say it is Huricane Katrina related. I say BULL. How long are they going to drag that hurricane through the mud? I think with all the customers they have and all the raising of rates since the hurricanes, they have more than recovered any losses. Not to mention the record profits they have disclosed. Same with oil companies. Demand has gone down, supply is at an all time high. Oil should be down below $50 a barrel. Realistically pump prices should be in the neighborhood of $1.50 a gallon or less. Won't happen though because of the revenue(tax) the gov't steals from you and me every second of the day, 24hrs 7 days 365 days a year. Support the FairTax Ammendment and end the corruption and bring all those jobs back to the US. None of them left to learn a new language, they left because of the tax laws.
