KNON 89.3 FM is holding its Winter Pledge Drive and badly needs funds to keep all its programming intact. In a letter I received from KNON Station Manager Dave Chaos, he describes why this season's drive is so important for the listeners:
Our last two pledge drives both experienced large declines from same time last year, so this drive is very important. We just got hit with major ice problems at our broadcast tower during the last storm and declining revenues and increasing expenses spell a serious situation.
Listeners need to know that if that they want to keep what they enjoy on KNON, now is the time to support before hard choices have to be made. Once a show leaves the station there is no bringing it back. After the last drive, we got rid of two shows not meeting pledge goals. We really hope during this drive listeners elect to keep all of the shows on the air. We are the Voice of the People and now is the time for the people to speak with their pledges.
If you would like to send in a pledge there are a couple different methods. Those pledging by credit card can visit the "Pledge Now" portion of the KNON website and submit payment via the secure server. To mail in a pledge, call the station during your favorite show at (972) 647-1893. As an incentive the station is offering some goodies depending on the level of one's pledge.
One of the gifts from the Cool Stuff Collection. Creepy head with platinum blond wig not included, unfortunately.
- $100 - KNON programming schedule, bumper sticker, and three gifts from the Cool Stuff Collection
- $60 - schedule, bumper sticker, and two gifts from the Cool Stuff Collection
- $35 - schedule, bumper sticker, and one gift from the Cool Stuff Collection
- $25 - schedule and bumper sticker
- under $25 - schedule
So keep your favorite shows alive by sending a pledge to KNON. Money is worthless anyway if you can't use it to listen to music. This is what I'm told at least.
