UPDATED: Key to the Fort Worth Police Department media room stolen
Lieutenant Dean A. Sullivan has informed the media that no one will be able to get into the media room until the key is returned.
The key to the Fort Worth Police Department media room has been stolen. Lieutenant Dean A. Sullivan has informed the media that no one will be able to get into the media room until the key is returned. So if hypothetically we aren't able to give you timely information that could help in locating suspects in a pending kidnapping investigation, don't blame us.
At least soon enough stolen media room keys might not be a problem. Sullivan says that he has put in a request for a keypad that would replace traditional keys altogether. Apparently, this is much easier then expending necessary resources to see that items are not stolen from a building with cops everywhere.
UPDATE: Lieutenant Sullivan now reports that the key to the media room has been returned.

So, basically, no one thought to make a copy? And no one at FWPD HQ can figure out how to open a locked door?

This is the lamest conclusion to the story ever. Where did the key go? Who took it? Why does my car make that noise when I turn left?

Lieutenant Sullivan claimed yesterday that Cupid returned the key, but I suspect he was just making a V-day joke.
