Two members of Dallas Children’s Theater assaulted

Two members of Dallas Children's Theater were attacked by a Dallas man while the theater company was touring in New England on Sunday.

Terry Williams, 34, was arrested at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Bedford, N.H. on two counts of simple assault and one count of criminal threatening. He's being held on $15,000 cash bail and will be arraigned Monday at Merrimack District Court.

He was staying in the hotel with his girlfriend, who is a member of the DCT, when he accused her of cheating on him with another company member. He punched her in the face and threatened her, then went to the room of the man he suspected, dragged him out of bed, and punched him, the Bedford police told the Manchester Union Leader. Williams was not a member of the theater company.

On Friday, the Dallas Children's Theater performed Midnight Cry: The Underground Railroad to Freedom at Saint Anselm College. The Buffalo News gave the play a writeup of a performance of the same tour from early February, calling it the "second phase of a backbreaking national tour that includes more than 200 performances in three months." It quoted lead actress Rhianna Mack as saying that the tour "can be a little bit tiring, but I think everybody in the show knows that the show is the most important thing, getting the story across and getting the audience to see and feel what we see and feel on stage. As actors, you forget about how hard it may be. You focus on the story and getting through the show."
