UPDATED: Pizza Hut announces search for Honorary VP of Pizza
Pizza fan contest encourages customers to create video expressing their passion for Pizza Hut.
DALLAS Pizza Hut announced a nationwide search for America’s favorite pizza fan. The winner will earn the title of Honorary Vice President of Pizza and be awarded with a $25,000 salary, use of a “company car” during a three month victory tour and free pizza for a year. Interested candidates can log on to their website to learn how to submit a short video that demonstrates their pizza passion.
“We have some of the most passionate pizza fans in the world,” said Bill Ogle, Pizza Hut chief marketing officer. “We want to find the top candidate among pizza fans and reward that person as our VP of Pizza. We think a true pizza lover makes the best spokesperson for Pizza Hut - America’s Favorite Pizza.”
To enter, pizza enthusiasts can create a video (up to two minutes in length) demonstrating their devotion to Pizza Hut pizza, and why they want to earn the title. Entrants are encouraged to use their creativity—for example, videos may feature contestants painting the roof of their house red, creating an original ode, rap or short movie for Pizza Hut or decorating their room with Pizza Hut memorabilia.
UPDATE: Three finalists were announced today. Not to be provincial, but none of them were from Dallas (one's from New York, one's from Illinois, and one's from L.A. -- you suppose that's deliberate, to find people who are geographically spread out?), so it's kindof "who cares." But there you have it.

This jackass put up a 4 minute and 46 second video, which is just him eating pizza. <object height="350" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EYsDZHArQvU"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><embed height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EYsDZHArQvU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" wmode="transparent"></object>
Er, wait a second. Who's the jackass? I'm the one who sat there and watched the whole thing.
