State troopers find a whooooole lot of marijuana in big rig truck
FORT WORTH Conducting a "routine inspection", state troopers found nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana in the big rig of a truck headed from El Paso to Chicago, according to Channel 5.
Truckers Fernando Anchondo, 45, and Carlos Hernandez Jr., 34, were stopped shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday during a sweep by troopers.
When the pair "looked nervous," troopers asked to search the truck and found an unmarked box containing 975 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $500,000. Anchondo and Hernandez were arrested on delivery-of-marijuana charges, with bail set at $20,000 each.
