UPDATED: Dallas to lose Cotton Bowl game to Arlington; press conference recap

It is now being reported that Dallas will lose the annual Cotton Bowl game to Arlington. The game will take place each year at the new Cowboys stadium beginning in 2010. A Cotton Bowl official says that the Cotton Bowl Board is expected to meet on Tuesday to make an official announcement.

UPDATE: The City of Dallas and the State Fair of Texas have just called a joint press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. to talk about the future of the Cotton Bowl. Hopefully it'll include something more interesting than just a concession speech.

UPDATE #2: Dallasblog.com has a good recap of the Cotton Bowl Board press conference including the official rationale behind the decision to move the Cotton Bowl Classic to Arlington. City of Dallas press conference still to come.

UPDATE #3: Turns out the City of Dallas and State Fair press conference was just a big commitment to keep the Texas-OU game. No major surprises.

Finally every body can quit bellyaching about the Cotton Bowl and give it the wrecking ball it deserves.

If the Cotton Bowl moves to Jerry World, can the Cotton Bowl stadium still be called the Cotton Bowl?

We still have FC Dallas.. oops they moved to frisco. oh but wait they are going to put the gondola back in, and open fair park year round. Don't forget DART is installing a rail line to the front gate! I can see it in the future: hotels, restaurants, and high-rise apartments. LOL, ok I have high hopes!
