Historic St. John Baptist Church in Carrollton holds services again
Nice story from CBS11 about the city's oldest black church, which had been under the shadow of the wrecking ball. For years, city officials and the congregation had been going back and forth about what to do with the church, which had been in bad shape, structurally, for some time. Here are minutes from a 2002 Carrollton Historic Preservation Advisory Committee meeting, for example.
And here's more background about the church, courtesy the Dallas Historical Society.
