Harriet Miers resigns as White House Counsel

Harriet Miers has resigned from her position as White House Counsel. Miers, a Dallas native, was the president of local law firm Locke, Liddell & Sapp before joining the Bush administration. She became a household name when President Bush nominated her as a candidate for the Supreme Court in 2005.
