North Richland Hills girl in custody after stabbing father
A 16-year-old accused of stabbing her father Wednesday evening was ordered this Thursday to remain at the Lynn W. Ross Juvenile Detention Center in Fort Worth until her next detention hearing is scheduled.
Authorities described the girl as being "uspet" prior to the stabbing, which is sort of an understatement for the emotions you might feel when you attack your father with a six-inch kitchen knife and ram the blade into his back and chest as he runs out of the apartment, hollering over his shoulder at your 12-year-old sister to call the cops.
Luckily, the 36-year-old father was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and is now in good condition.
Meanwhile, the daughter was taken into custody shortly after police arrived at the Abbey at Hightower Apartments in the 6800 block of Hightower Drive in North Richland Hills. She is expected to be charged with delinquent conduct/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
At this time, authorities are still unsure exactly what prompted the stabbing.
