Minorities receiving higher interest rates when buying homes in North Texas
According to the DMN, "about 34 percent of home loans taken out by minorities in 2004-05 were considered higher-cost, compared with 17 percent for whites." Federal regulators say that kind of discrepancy could be wide enough that an investigation looking into whether minority home buyers are being taken advantage of by lenders would be appropriate.
