Jamal Qaddura immigrated from Kuwait 25 years ago at the age of 18 and settled with family in Arlington. As profiled in this Star Telegram piece, the Tarrant County College grad has been active in the local business community for many years and has lately found himself serving as the local Islamic community's de facto spokesperson through his affiliation with the Dar El Eman Islamic Center in south Arlington.
Qaddura says he still abides by the dictum of doing a good deed every day, which he learned during his scouting years in Kuwait.
It's good to know that the Boy Scout philosophy transcends cultural and international boundaries. Maybe national entities could learn something from them.
