What the crooks don't know is that the Little Leaguers are also black belts in karate—specializing in the swift yet messy art of death—and that they hunger daily for vengeance.
This past Tuesday, thieves broke into the youth sports complex at Stinger Field in Fort Worth and stole thousands of dollars worth of copper wiring. As a result, the Azle Little League and Azle Youth Association will have to postpone their games (at least the night ones).
The president of the little league says wiring was torn from the power boxes of the field's 24 light poles, four scoreboards and the concession stand—leaving the facility unable to operate.
A similar story in south Dallas details the increasing frequency of stolen metals such as copper, which thieves snag and sell to local scrapyards for quick cash.
At this time, the estimated cost of repairing Stinger Field is in the thousands.
In the words of another PegNews staffer, there ought to be "an extra special circle in Dante's Hell for this."

Vans Warped Tour 2009 Warped 2009 just began -- Dallas is only the fifth stop -- so Bad Religion, NOFX et al should still be dewy-fresh. Now on its 15th year, the punk tour's gotten tighter, with fewer stages and 40-minute sets instedda 30. Get there early for Colorado duo 3OH!3 and Brit punkers Gallows (pictured, credit Jay West).
