New Interview: Joulz Il
A fledgling musician, he's educating himself about the profession and writing lyrics about topics that are important to him, regardless of whether they are the popular in mainstream hip-hop.
If you participate in the DFWHipHop forum discussions, chances are you know exactly who Julian Sneed, or Joulz Il, is. Still a newer name in the local rap and hip-hop scene, Joulz Il is not about rushing into becoming an music artist and sacrificing his message. He's educating himself about the profession and other artists, and writing lyrics about topics that are important to him, regardless of whether they are the popular in mainstream hip-hop. A writer and a poet, he's now on the verge of breaking out on the local scene to put his own signature on DFW music.
Joulz Il stopped by the Pegasus News offices to chat with us about some of the following:
- How he got started creating music
- His thoughts on the local and national rap and hip-hop profession
- Inspiration for his music and writing
- Favorite musicians, writers, and poets
Check out Joulz Il's blog and songs on this website for a sample of his various works.
