Non-profit ends bid for homeless shelter in Lake Highlands
Lake Highlands citizens that opposed the homeless shelter still care about the health of this woman. They'd just care a lot more if she were in Oak Cliff.
The Central Dallas Community Development Corp., a local non-profit, has decided to end its bid to turn the Jules E. Muchert Army Reserve Center in Lake Highlands into a homeless shelter. The decision comes as a result of much opposition from Lake Highlands residents that led Dallas City Council member Bill Blaydes to request the non-profit end their bid.
The residents that opposed a homeless shelter in thier neighborhood may have gotten what they wanted, but the certainly didn't earn any points with Larry James. Take some time to read his thoughts about the Lake Highlands opposition.
