UPDATED: Cowboys hire Jason Garrett for offensive coordinator
Current Miami Dolphins quarterback coach Jason Garrett has come to Dallas to interview with Jerry Jones for the Cowboys' offensive coordinator position. I would have no problem with bringing Jason Garrett back to the Cowboys as part of the coaching staff, but why is Jerry trying to fill any of the coordinator positions before filling the heading coaching position? I can understand keeping members of the coaching staff that are already under contract, but to bring someone completely new in before the head coach can weigh in seems silly. Isn't Jerry going about this completely backwards?
UPDATED: Garrett was hired.

Chris Curotolo, says:
I think Jerry's going to hire Garrett and then go after Lovie Smith. The Bears are not even going to talk to Lovie about a contract extension until after the Superbowl. If that falls through, Garrett is the coach. That's my guess based on no facts whatsoever.
