In what surely feels like the correct marriage of product and spokesperson, Pizza Hut has retained Richardson native Jessica Simpson to hawk its Cheesy Bites Pizza on a pair of ads set to run before the Super Bowl game next week.
A limited-run item, Cheesy Bites Pizza was introduced in February 2006. Pizza Hut insists that it's the most successful new product introduction in the company’s history. (So why did they make it limited edition?)
The first ad will show a herd running through the streets in pursuit of the Cheesy Bites Pizza. The second will show the herd passing Simpson on the red carpet at a movie premiere -- having absolutely nothing to do with the pizza, per se.
