Pizza chain offers heart shaped pie as part of annual Valentine’s fundraiser

Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza kicks off its annual Valentine’s fundraiser featuring its one-of-a-kind heart-shaped pizzas to benefit Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).

Continuing its tradition of giving back to local communities, Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza kicks off its annual Valentine’s fundraiser featuring its one-of-a-kind heart-shaped pizzas to benefit Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Each of the three Boston’s restaurants located in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex will donate all charitable proceeds directly to Children’s Miracle Network.

The restaurants will feature two unique giving opportunities designed to raise funds for local hospitals. Beginning January 29 through February 14, Boston’s will sell special paper hearts for a $1 donation. Patrons are encouraged to write Valentine’s messages on the hearts to display in the restaurants. Leading up to Valentine’s Day, from February 9 through February 14, Boston’s also will sell its popular heart-shaped pizzas and donate $1 per pizza sold to local hospitals, along with the money collected from the paper heart sales. As with the entire menu, the heart-shaped pizzas are available in store, for take out, or by delivery.

“We are excited to team up with Children’s Miracle Network to help with its mission of saving and improving the lives of children,” said Doug MacDonald, president of Boston's The Gourmet Pizza. "Boston’s stores and employees look forward to our Valentine’s fundraiser every year because it gives us a chance to help those in need in the local communities where we live and work.”

Carrying on the tradition of its parent company, Boston Pizza in Canada, Boston’s began selling the specialty pizzas and paper hearts in 1999 as a way to give back to local charities. Over the years, Boston Pizza and Boston’s collectively have sold more than 360,000 heart-shaped pizzas and donated more than $500,000 to local charities.

Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children through fundraising for children’s hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

"On behalf of Children’s Miracle Network and our member hospitals we are grateful to Boston's The Gourmet Pizza and its customers for their generous support," said Jim Hall, Children’s Miracle Network president and CEO. "Through our partnership with Boston's, we will continue to positively change the lives of millions of children."
