City of Wylie narrows down Fire Chief candidates

As of January 26, the finalists have interviewed with the City Manager Mindy Manson.

The City of Wylie has selected three finalists for its vacant Fire Chief position. Here they are, listed alphabetically:

George “Randy” Corbin - Since 1999, Corbin has served as a Vice President at TWL Knowledge Group, which provides training and education for law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency management, professional security and homeland security. Prior to TWL Knowledge Group, Corbin served as the Fire Chief for the City of Lewisville (TX) from 1984 to 1999.

Noe Flores – Flores joined the City of Wylie as an Assistant Fire Chief in 2004 and has served as Interim Fire Chief since the retirement of Shan English. Flores began his firefighting career as a firefighter in San Angelo (TX) in 1983. Prior to joining WFD, Flores served as a Battalion Chief in San Angelo from 1999 to 2004.

Gary Wisdom – Since 1998, Wisdom has served as the Fire Chief for the City of Burleson (TX). Wisdom began his firefighting career as a firefighter in McKinney (TX) in 1981. Prior to joining the Burleson Fire Department, Wisdom served as a McKinney Fire Captain from 1984 to 1998.

As of January 26, the three finalists have interviewed with the City Manager Mindy Manson. Results are pending.

The City received more than 31 resumes for the Fire Chief position when long-time Fire Chief Shan English retired in June of 2006.
