SMU women’s track and field recognized for academic excellence by the USTFCCCA

The SMU women's track and field squad is one of 97 Division I Women's programs recognized as 2007 All-Academic Track and Field Teams announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.
Running
The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Team's of the Year award is based on a combination of athletic and academic achievements. The top honor goes to the team that has the best finish at the Division I Indoor and/or Outdoor National Championships and that also holding the highest cumulative GPA.
To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 GPA.
In addition, SMU's Andrea Kvetova was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field team. The organization honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track season.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent indoor championships or an outdoor regional qualifying mark in their respective event.
