2007 Taste of Dallas
- When: Friday, July 13, 2007, noon to midnight
- Where: West End, Dallas
- Cost: Free
- Age limit: All ages
Woodbelly lead singer Cas Haley has made it through another round in the NBC reality show America's Got Talent.
I missed tonight's episode, but I've gotten a couple emails from excited local fans. You can see a bit of his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Living For the City" on the show's website.
Fans of the show appear to be angry that the "Tranny Shakira" also made it through, while another act with local ties, the Three Redneck Tenors, got cut.
We'll update with the whole thing once it hits the video embed world, but in the meantime, give a shout in the comments below if you saw the show, especially if you can remember anything about the judges' commentary.

Cas Rocks, his voice is unique, he's got talent, and he is way beyond any of the other's on that show America's got Talent. I am a new fan, I bought the CD, and we need to rally behind him for next week!

I saw the show. Totally didn't realize he was from here. I was half watching, half working. But I do remember him because wasn't he the one told to dress better and he did?

Sez tipster Travis Behl:
This was apparently just the elimination night. They showed a clip from the show i guess last night, and he did his "livin' in the city." tonight, hasselhoff toyed with him a bit and then told him he made the top 20. That's a damn good thing for him and dallas music.

I've seen Woodbelly at club dada. You never know who you are gonna see when you get out there and go see some live music! Sarah Jaffe and Dove Hunter and Centro-matic at Granada tomorrow. Felons, Hendrick, Dylan Sneed, and the Slack at Dada Saturday for Radiohead Tribute. If that's not your cup of tea, there's Lovie at Bar of Soap, always a treat. I'm sure there's more too.

I got a chance to see Woodbelly at Taste of Dallas tonight. Very enjoyable. Cas's voice has soul written all over it.

Cas is a unique entertainer and great musician - wouldn't you buy a ticket to see him? Hope he wins and launches his career in a big way.

I'm rooting for Cas too, but don't forget about the other local - Mesquite's own Terry Fator. I've never seen anyone pull off anything like this, not sure I'd be into a whole show of it, but definitely held my attention for a couple minutes. It was pretty remarkable:

OK, I have to admit I'm a little biased as Cas is a friend of mine BUT, this couldn't happen to a better guy. He's one of the most talented and humble people to know. Win or lose Cas is a winner!

I am very moved by Cas. He is so dedicated to his family and when he talks about his son you know the boy is his life. Cas reminds me of my son they could pass for twin. I love his voice could listen to him all day. I have not voted but think it's time I do.

Ha don't mean to ruin it but Cas lost. It was really close though, I love that sort of suspenseful competition. I wonder who will win this season, although we won't find out the contestants until the premiere tomorrow night.
