The hard work in the classroom by the 2007 TCU women's track and field program was recognized by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday as the organization named the Flyin' Frogs an All-Academic track and field team.
"I think it really shows what type of kids we have in our program," head coach Darryl Anderson said. "I'm proud of this group. They work hard and deserve this honor. It's also a great honor for TCU."
TCU, who made the list with a 3.056 GPA, recently had 11 track and field athletes make the 2006-07 Spring Academic All-MWC Team.
Individually, TCU's women's team received accolades in June with recent graduate McKale Davis being selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Team.
In all, there were 97 Division I Women's programs recognized as 2007 All-Academic Track and Field Teams. The Big Ten Conference led all conferences with a total of eight All-Academic teams.
To be nominated, the team must have carried a minimum 3.0 GPA.
