UPDATED: 106.1 KISS FM holds contest for local band to open KISS Party 2007

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Your band could totally open up for Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, Baby Bash, and Paula DeAnda at KISS Party 2007. Read the excessively linked-up press release below for more information.

106.1 KISS FM is looking for a local band to open the KISS Party 2007 concert. Online video entries will be accepted until tomorrow, Friday, July 13, 2007 at 5:30pm.

To enter the contest, bands can submit a video online at www.1061kissfm.com or http://party.1061kissfm.com. Video submissions can also be dropped off at 14001 North Dallas, Parkway, Suite 300, Dallas, TX 75240. The video performances must be at least 3 minutes in length and contain original material. From those entries, several bands will be selected as semi-finalists and will have their videos posted on the KISS Party website for people to vote for their favorite band.

KISS Party 2007, which features performances by Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Good Charlotte, Baby Bash and Paula DeAnda, will take place on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie.

UPDATE: As the comments below indicate, four bands have been chosen for the final round: 1000 Miles From Home, Free Agent, The Rocket Summer, and The Salutation. Voting ends July 30th.

Our video apparently made the cut as well and Kiss has finally updated their website to show the finalists: The Salutation, Free Agent, 1000 Miles From Home, and The Rocket Summer

Voting is now possible, once per day, per email address, through July 30th.
