Grand Prairie approves $555,450 for Memorial Library renovations
During its July 10th meeting, the Grand Prairie City Council approved $555,450 in renovations and additions to the Grand Prairie Memorial Library.
Amongst a few minor touch ups, this money will go toward interior renovations to the entry corridor and main traffic spine within the facility.
Additionally, the city plans to build a new entry portico tower feature at the library's south entry to "assist in more clearly defining this location as the Library’s main point of entry."
In architecture and pompous hipster terms, a "portico" is essentially a porch supported by columns. To the right is a photo of a random building with the portico circled in red. See if you can identify the tower on your own.
