Scott Johnson, FAIA, design partner of Johnson Fain, a leading architecture, planning and interiors firm based in Los Angeles, has been selected to design Museum Tower, a 42-story condominium building in the Dallas Arts District.

Museum Tower will be the tallest residential building in the city and sits in the Arts District among buildings designed by four Pritzker Prize-winning architects -- the Nasher Sculpture Center by Renzo Piano, I. M. Pei’s Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, the Winspear Opera Hall by Norman Foster, and the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre by Rem Koolhaas Office of Metropolitan Architecture.

The Museum Tower with 125 luxury high-rise homes will offer state-of-the-art services including catering and kitchen design by Dallas chef and restaurateur Stephan Pyles. Prices will start at $1 million for the smallest residence.

"This is truly a remarkable site and the design of our building will be as unique as those of our neighbors," said Johnson who is well known as the architect of Fox Plaza, SunAmerica Center and MGM Tower in Century City, MetLofts in downtown Los Angeles, and tall buildings throughout the West Coast and Asia.

Groundbreaking is set for early next year. Museum Tower will include a wellness center, spa, landscaped grounds and a cultural studio plus a private art gallery for residents.

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
