Tax-free shopping weekend pushed to August 17-19

The annual weekend for tax-free shopping, established ostensibly to help parents buy clothes and supplies for their school-attending children, has been moved to the third week of August.

The shopping event to end all shopping events will be August 17-19. MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! It usually happens the first weekend of August. State officials moved it so that it would be closer to the school year.

Lest you forget what the tax-free weekend entails, it goes as follows: You pay no tax on clothing or shoes under $100. And this year, that includes backpacks under $100 too.
