Little Elm suspends Drought Contingency Plan and watering restrictions
This refreshing news is effective immediately.
Effective immediately, the Town of Little Elm is transitioning from Modified Stage 3 of the Drought Contingency Plan to the Town's Water Conservation Plan.
On July 3rd, The North Texas Municipal Water District moved from Stage 3 of their drought contingency plan to their water conservation plan after declaring the drought is officially over for 1.6 million water customers served by the District. NTMWD officials recommend all member and customer cities transition to their Water Conservation Plan.
The Town approved a Water Conservation Plan in September 2005. While this plan does not limit the number of days residents can water, the Town encourages residents to continue with a watering schedule of no more than twice per week. The Plan does provide Landscape Water Management Regulations to prevent wasting of water, which includes:
- No outdoor watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- No out door watering allowed during rainfall
- No over-watering such that a constant stream of water overflows from the lawn onto a street or other drainage area
All residents are encouraged to follow these guidelines. For more detailed information go to the Town's web site; www.littleelm.tx.us .
