(More) new high-rise towers planned near Victory Park
DALLAS Hey, just what Dallas needs: another new high-rise development going up near Victory Park. According to GlobeSt.com, Granite Properties and Gables Residential will build a $200 million "mixed-use project" with two towers housing offices, apartments, and stores. It'll be on a 2+ acre plot of land next to the El Fenix, at the northwest corner of McKinney Avenue, North Akard Street, and Cedar Springs Road, with construction set to begin in January. A guy from Granite says there'll be sufficient demand for more office and residential space by the time they start leasing in 2009, and he for sure must know what he's talking about, otherwise they wouldn't be building this huge project, right?
The residential tower will be 24 stories, with 7 floors of parking on the bottom and 17 floors of apartments, approximately 300 units total.
