Grand Prairie to consider purchasing new tech gadgets for police vehicles

At its upcoming meeting at 6:30 p.m. on July 24, the Grand Prairie City Council will consider the following measures:

Storm Drain along the Alley to the West of Virginia Drive at Carrier Parkway

  • Consider a construction contract with A & M Construction Utilities in the amount of $66,605.24 plus a 5% contingency of $3,330 for a total of $69,935.24 for Storm Drain Improvements along the alley west of Virginia Drive at Carrier Parkway; and
  • Consider a Service Agreement with Oncor in the amount of $11,675.40 for underground electric line relocations

Purchase of Digital Cameras, Laptop Computers and Ticket Writers for Police Vehicles

  • Consider authorizing the purchase and installation of Integrian digital patrol cameras and Panasonic laptop computers and installation of previously purchased ticket writers in the amount of $999,542.23 using the Texas DIR pricing agreement and the City's current price agreements and purchasing procedures.

Repair to Emergency Warning Siren at 3202 South Great Southwest Parkway

  • Consider an ordinance ratifying the amendment of the Fire Department's Capital Improvement Projects Budget to repair Emergency Warning Siren #14

Landfill Gas Collection and Control System

  • Consider awarding a contract to Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. for construction of Phase III of the landfill gas collection and control system at a cost of $379,655; authorize a 5% contingency of $18,983, and authorize $14,181 for additional electrical facilities for a total of $412,819 and;
  • Consider an ordinance amending the FY 2006/2007 Capital Improvements Project Budget
