U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is staying busy, with another round of arrests, this time focused on "gangs," with arrests of 121 alleged gang members made in the past week.

According to ICE, the arrests managed to penetrate 27 gangs including the Asian Boyz, Latin Kings, Eastside Locos, Northside Locos, Westside 12, 18th St., 28th St., Love Field Players, Mexican Mafia and MS-13. Of the 121 arrested, 45 were citizens. Police chipped in from Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Gainesville, Wichita Falls, and Farmers Branch, as well as representatives from the FBI, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Is I.C.E. the lead agency now for arrests that ordinarily would fall to State officials. Since Bush gutted Posse Comitatus, the law that prevented the Feds from assuming state police powers, are the Feds going to be running the show now to make sure that the job gets sabotaged properly? Why is it that, in the last couple of months since immigration has taken front seat in the press, everytime I.C.E. looks at an illegal alien, there's press coverage?

These arrests are good but it makes me wonder how many might have been arrested by now if Bush wasn't using I.C.E. to look the other way as often as it looks for illegals. Working under Bush/Chertnoff in I.C.E. must be incredibly confusing. Let's see, do I arrest the criminal illegal alien gang memeber or do I help him find a job? Likewise, under Bush/Chertnoff: "Do I save the drowning New Orleans citizen or do I blame it on Brown." I forget where Chertnoff was during Katrina, or did it ever make the news?

Regardless of the political confusion, keep up the good work guys. Maybe someday, when we have an American President, you'll be able to get enthusiastic about doing your jobs well without having to look over your shoulder to see if your boss is watching. The American Public is behind you whether anybody else is or not.

I wish they were charged something other than assembling illegally. Oh that is right. Assembly is a constitutionally protected right. So they are probably crossing the Rio Grande with a new ID by now because they were only deported. If they were not involved in illegal activities welcome back y'all. I hate those carpet baggers they sent down here to clean up our country.

We're at war, "Posse Comitatus" needed gutting. Gangs need gutting. What's it going to take, mid-east style street corner bombers? War means we take a hit when it comes to personal liberties and unbridled freedoms. Guys like Jefferson & Madison realized that simple fact; read their stuff. Not what they wrote after the war, what they wrote DURING the war -- when they were faced with that time period's own style of global terrorism. Good grief!
