Federal case against Islamic charity opens in Dallas courtroom
The big trial against five members of the Holy Land Foundation began on Tuesday morning in Dallas. Shut down in 2001, the North Texas charity was accused of contributing money to Middle Eastern militant group Hamas; the defense says the money was sent to support humanitarian efforts.
The trial is expected to last at least 3 months.
