Heritage Auction Galleries sued for spilling latte on rare comics

Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries is being sued in the state of Washington by Henry Gossage, a comic book collector who says that Heritage’s ex-consignment director spilled a latté on his rare comics, then paid only $8,000 for damages that will cost $132,400 to repair.

The rare comics in question were "Korak Son of Tarzan: When the Rhino Charged" and two "Batman and Robin" sketches done by Bob Kane.

Part of his claim is that Heritage attempted to sneak in a reduction in its insurance coverage. He claims they originally said they'd insure it for $50,000, but then tried to reduce the amount to $5,000.
