TXU ordered to pay another $5 million in fines for bilking customers
DALLAS According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears that TXU is getting fined by the Public Utilities Commission of Texas once again, this time around for automatically renewing unrequested services for business customers.
The PUC cited over 4,000 cases of TXU illegally renewing contracts for twelve months for unresponsive businesses, despite a Texas law stating that automatic renewals cannot exceed 31 days. TXU disputes the PUC's findings, and claims it did no wrongdoing, and settled in order to focus on its customers.
