— According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears the State of Texas is finally going to do something about rampaging childhood obesity. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has announced that she will release $20 million annually in grants to public schools, in order to fight obesity.

According to Combs, obesity cost Texas businesses an estimated $3.3 billion in 2005. Children who are overweight have a 70% chance of being overweight or obese as adults.
