Jim Schutze is the first to say it: TrinityVote got the necessary 48,000 signatures on petitions gathered to get a vote on the construction of the Trinity River toll road, which City Secretary Deborah Watkins will certify on Sunday night.

UPDATE: It's official.

UPDATE2: The powers-that-be are raising questions about the signatures' validity and sending them to the district attorney's office to review them for "possible fraud." Talk about sore losers.

Official memo.

Official memo.

Excellent !

Wish all Dallas COUNTY residents, who after all will all suffer or benefit together, might vote together as well. But here the city residents decide for everybody.

While it is true that more than just Dallasites will reap the consequences of this project, it is the city issuing bonds for the project, thus the citywide ballot.

You can thank the residents of Dallas who signed the petition that we have a chance to keep the highway out of a floodplain and out of the park. Is city hall listening?

Well according to the DMN, I was wrong to question the Trinity Parkway. I wonder what they have to say now when 80,000 people signed this petition.

Interesting commentary on the claims of fraud and their futility:
