Next up for the Dallas Summer Musicals is the hit show, CHICAGO, which opens June 5 and plays until June 17. This "razzle dazzle tale of sin and celebrity" is the longest-running musical revival that just reached its 10 year anniversary of being on Broadway in November 2006.
This tour will feature Lisa Rinna as Roxie Hart. Rinna is recognized for recently competing on "Dancing with the Stars" and hosting "Soap Talk," but you may also remember her from "Days of Our Lives" and "Melrose Place." (Side note, another "Days of Our Lives" alum, Jensen Ackles, will be performing in A Few Good Men at Casa Manana Theatre from June 5-10).
To kick off opening night and two matinees, Dance Council, Dallas Summer Musicals and Dallas Summer Musicals School of Musical Theatre are will perform a pre-show tribute of National Tap Dance Celebration. The event will feature the best tap dancers from around the metroplex, including The Ballet Conservatory of Lewisville, Miss Persis School of Dance of Arlington, and Legacy Tap Project of Southlake. Also, the audience will be invited to do the Tap National Anthem led by the "83-year-young legend," Buster Cooper.
