MCKINNEY – On Wednesday evening, May 23, thieves entered the McKinney High School journalism department at the school and stole more than $30,000 worth of computers, cameras and other media equipment. Although the McKinney Police Department was able to recover some of the equipment and place several suspects under arrest, several items were not recovered.

While authorities are still unsure who stole the equipment, my guess is it's all part of Fox News's continued war on journalism.
The McKinney High School journalism program, which raises money to purchase equipment for the department through various fund raising events throughout the year, will be financially unable to replace the equipment prior to the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year.
In an effort to help the school’s journalism program, Taylor Publishing, the publisher of the yearbook, has donated an additional 100 McKinney High School 2006-2007 yearbooks to help the department raise funds to replace the stolen equipment. The yearbooks sell for $85. In addition, the school is also offering a combination package of the current 2006-2007 yearbook and the upcoming 2007-2008 yearbook for a total price of $125, a savings of $45 if the books were purchased separately.
“The 2006-2007 McKinney High School yearbook is a fantastic student-produced publication with beautiful photography and lots of history about McKinney High,” said Lori Oglesbee, Communications Department Chair at the school. “The books would make a great addition to any reception area, real estate office or home, and it would help the department begin to rebuild the award winning journalism program here at McKinney High.”
To purchase a copy of the 2006-2007 McKinney High School Yearbook, or the combination 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 yearbooks, contact Lori Oglesbee at loglesbee@mckinneyisd.net or by phone at 469-742-5910. Orders can be made directly to the school by sending a check made out to MHS Yearbook for the correct amount to the following address:

The Beach Boys with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Beach Boy trivia: Though surfing was a prominent theme in many of the Beach Boys' early songs, Dennis Wilson was the only original member who surfed. "Kokomo" was the Beach Boys' first hit in 20 years and ended up being their biggest selling single. Paul McCartney once said that "God Only Knows" was the most beautiful pop song ever written.
