New Interview: Mahteo
After more than a decade being involved in DFW music, Raul and Rene Espinoza have interesting perspectives on the transitions that have taken place in themselves, their music, and in the scene.
Mahteo's main men stopped by the Pegasus News offices last week for an interview. Raul and Rene Espinoza have been involved in DFW music since the mid-90's. This experience means they have an interesting perspective on the transitions that have taken place in themselves, their music, and in the scene.
Some topics we talked about in the interview:
- Background on how they got from Swivel, to their independent label, to Mahteo
- How their music has changed over the years and some things they've learned along the way
- Putting together the album The NuWave Republic
- Misconceptions about the band's music given the name
- Getting ready for their upcoming tour, label talk, and other new projects on the way
