Russ Kerbow named new Lewisville Chief of Police

0

— Lewisville City Manager Claude King has announced that William Russell (Russ) Kerbow, who has been serving as acting police chief since March 1, has been selected for the permanent post as head of the Lewisville Police Department.

Kerbow, who has been with the department since May 1978, was selected after a statewide search that included a number of outstanding candidates, according to City Manager Claude King.

Former Police Chief Steve McFadden retired Feb. 28 after nearly 30 years as Lewisville’s chief, and more than 38 years in municipal service with five city police departments.

Kerbow had held the rank of assistant police chief since 2004, overseeing records and property operations, emergency communications and jail operations. He has served in a variety of roles with the Lewisville Police Department, including patrol criminal investigations and support services. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas, has completed the FBI National Academy, and holds a Masters Peace Officer Certificate from the Texas Commission Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
