DALLAS The DBJ has an item on a new management team coming to the Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa, from the Driskill Hotel in Austin. John Langston will be managing director.
If you've driven by there, you'll know that the hotel is being restored and a residential high-rise is being built in what used to be the driveway/parking lot. The restoration is being overseen by La Corsha Hospitality Group, the company founded by longtime Driskill Hotel managing director Jeff Trigger, who will be the Stoneleigh manager.
What the DBJ doesn't mention is that, before these guys went to the Driskill, they worked together at the Mansion on Turtle Creek. So this is a return to Dallas for them. Also coming from the Driskill is chef David Bull.
The Stoneleigh is supposed to open this fall.

Redefining the Disfranchised: The Political Art of Nina Allender As we continue to celebrate the 88th Anniversary of Women's Right to Vote, there's a prime opportunity to view influential art from the era. Nina Evans Allender drew political cartoons for The Suffragist from 1914 into the 1920s, transforming stereotypical views of who a suffragist was. Over the years, Allender contributed more than 250 political cartoons to the movement, a number of which are on display at the Women's Museum at Fair Park. More info
