Dallas ISD recruiting teachers for next school year
The Dallas Independent School District will hold two job fairs to recruit new teachers for the 2007 – 2008 school year.
The first fair has been scheduled for Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Automobile Building at Fair Park. A second fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location on Saturday, July 28.
To attend the fair, candidates must first apply on line at the Dallas ISD Web site www.dallasisd.org.
Qualified applicants must be certified teachers and must bring a copy of their valid teaching certificate to gain entrance into the fair. Candidates must also bring a social security card, photo identification (such as driver’s license) and a fervent desire to suck the life out of children.
The current starting salary for Dallas ISD teachers is $42,000 annually. Certified bilingual teachers receive an additional $4,000 stipend; math and science teachers a $2,500 stipend, and Spanish teachers $3,000.
Also, teacher candidates who sign a contract with Dallas ISD by June 30 will receive a signing bonus of $1,500 and a handgun.
