UPDATED: Dentonites make last-ditch effort to save mural before Fry Street is plowed to the ground
DENTON Clinging desperately to every sorry last brick, Dentonites are trying to salvage a mural painted on the exterior of the former Bagheri Italian restaurant, set to be demolished in a couple of weeks as part of the redevelopment that's going down on Fry Street. Salvaging the mural, which was painted in 1985 by a former University of North Texas student, will be no small task as it's painted on old cinder blocks.
UPDATE: Someone vandalized the mural; they dumped green paint on the faces of John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe.
