New Interview: The Horrifics
The dialogue in the PegNews office on January 18 went something like this: "Wait, The Horrifics broke up? Ah, jiminy cricket, that smarts something awful" (it was along those lines). But the sweet, sweet news came just a few months later that the Horrifics were only on a break, and that once they found their new drummer, they would be ready to go once again. Now they've found that drummer, Shrieks, so your favorite horror-punk band out of Haltom City is back to rock and scare you into peeing your pants. Just like that other time. Oh, don't act like you forgot, pee-boy... so anyway.
The Horrifics dropped by our elaborate and ornate interview space (a plastic table in an open room) to muse over the following topics:
- Going on break, a.k.a., intense video game training
- Getting back to making music and if the band plans on doing it similarly this "second time" around
- Intro the new drummer and his thoughts on being implanted into the already popular and established group of horror fiends
- Coming up out of Haltom City and the DFW music scene as a whole
- Favorite horror films and subgenres
- An impassioned discussion on the merits of Frankenberry over Count Chockula
Don't forget to check out the band's somewhat-recently released album, Now FEAR This, including two tracks from the record that have newly been posted to their site player, "UZUMAKi" and "Forever The NiGHT."
