Town of Trophy Club regretfully uproots trees for road reconstruction
The reconstruction project for Trophy Club Drive, Greenleaf Drive and Timberline Drive began this week with the replacement of water lines. Citizens of Trophy Club can expect paving to begin the first part of summer.
Additionally, work on the sub-drain along Trophy Club Drive from Municipal to Indian Creek will also begin next week, with the ultimate goal of stopping much of the surface water that crosses the street along this portion.
Along with this good news a dismal reminder of the vicious Circle of Life, as a few of the trees planted within street medians cannot be saved.
"We have examined this issue thoroughly and the trees would not be able to survive the construction as their root system would almost be completely destroyed in the process," says the official town website.
"We have also looked into the possibility of removing the trees in an attempt to transplant them, but not only would the transplanting be cost prohibitive, most probably the majority of the trees would not survive the transplant."
May God have mercy on our souls.
