Cincinnati Reds 8, Texas Rangers 4
Rangers lose this time in this epic clash of baseball titans.
The Texas Rangers were not match for the worst team in the National League Saturday, losing 8-4 to the Reds in a game dominated by home runs. While Sammy "The Bull" Sosa went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts a day after hitting his 599th career round-tripper, fellow resurgent old guy Ken Griffey Jr. hit two home runs early in the game, and is currently sitting at 581, just two behind Mark McGwire.
The Rangers' pitching, particularly new starter Jamey Wright, were unable to keep the ball in the park, surrendering all eight of Cincinnati's runs on five home runs.

Wright thought it was batting practice. Sosa wondered, "What did I do with all that cork I used to have?" Tom Hicks thought to himself, "This is cool...I put a lousy team on the field every year and the $$$ keeps rolling in! I love America." Ron Washington said out loud, "What this team needs is a manager." I say, "Why do so many people keep wasting $$$ to see this team?"
